Membership is open to all with an active research and/or educational interest in pulmonary vascular disease and related fields. 

The PVRI recognizes 2 categories of membership:

1. General members
2. Fellows
 

General members:

1. Open to anyone with an interest in pulmonary vascular disease.
2. May be conferred at any time. Must submit application and payment of annual dues.
3. Membership will be renewed annually by receipt of payment of dues. All members shall pay an annual subscription of an amount to be determined by the Executive Council
4. Membership shall automatically be suspended if the member fails to meet any obligation or make owed payments due to to PVRI. Suspension shall continue until such obligations are met or all sums due to the PVRI are paid, whereupon such privileges may be reinstated by the Executive Council
5. In special circumstances, dues may be waived by the Executive Council

Fellows

1. Must have a degree (MS, MD, PhD, RN)
2. May be nominated by established Fellows at any time.
3. Must submit application, conflict of interest form and payment of annual dues.
4. May be conferred at any time by Executive Council
5. Must participate in at least one taskforce
6. Have all entitlements of membership
